During Early Interview Week, most of the firms fill their suites with trays of snacks, muffins, sodas and coffee. Students don’t really need to pay for their own meals during the week.

And most firms tend to give out little trinkets to interviewees. Most hand out pens or highlighters. But a few gave out some really excellent gifts.

One firm handed out these little plastic kits, filled with a miniature stapler, staple remover, and a tiny tape dispenser.

Another gave out USB keys, with 256 MB of ram, pre-loaded with promotional materials from the firm.

The firm that handed out the plastic kits gave away USB keys (64 MB) at their reception last semester, although without any pesky pre-loaded materials. It’s actually been on my key chain for the last few months.
